The “green building” elements include use of local and adaptive plant species, eliminating the use of potable water for irrigation, and the use of renewable / regionally procured materials. Use of a reflective roof helps to reduce cooling loads, thereby lowering energy consumption and making for a more comfortable space. High-efficiency environmental, power and lighting systems enhance and serve to reduce the building’s carbon footprint.
